SHARED COURTYARD
This 1200 m² communal courtyard needed to be designed with 18 parking spaces, 14 storage units, areas where residents could sit both together and alone, and, of course, plenty of greenery. This puzzle was solved by placing an oval roundabout in the center and connecting it with the intended garden location through the right design. The rounded surfaces form large and small terraces in the garden for the residents to use.
Besides being a pleasant space for residents, the communal courtyard is also climate-adaptive. The paving, parking spaces, and semi-paved surfaces are all permeable, preventing waterlogging during periods of heavy rainfall.
The planting ensures that the garden is attractive in all four seasons and welcomes insects and other mammals.
