GARDEN BOOK ABOUT NATURAL GARDENING
Natural gardening is a movement that has existed for thirty-five years and continues to grow in popularity. More and more people yearn for a natural environment in their front and back gardens. This perfectly aligns with the current zeitgeist, where we strive to contribute to a better future. At the same time, ignorance about the subject creates a fear of getting started. Which plants are suitable for the garden? What are beautiful plant combinations? How do I achieve that playful effect, and how do I maintain a natural garden? Read more...

STORY BEHIND THE DESIGN
THE GARDEN WHERE TWO KINDS OF NATURE MEET
I'm not a jealous person by nature, but there's one thing I wish I had...
During our visits to Greece, Norway, Italy, Japan, and the Canary Islands, among other places, I gazed wide-eyed from the car at the lush landscapes of the mountains and fields that flashed by. Places where humans minimally interfere with nature are, in my view, magically beautiful. Because in places where almost no one comes, you see the most fascinating plant communities and it's easy to see how nature behaves. You often see these kinds of landscapes abroad, but rarely in the Netherlands.
Whenever I get home and see rows of the same trees along the road with that horrible short-mown grass underneath, or see half a forest marked with an orange or pink dot, knowing that trees will be cut down again for whatever meddling reason, my longing for my own piece of imperfect, uncontrolled nature has only grown stronger over the past few years.
At the same time, my love for plants and natural gardens has also grown. But despite their "natural" label, they are still considerably less natural than places where humans make no choice about what grows. The natural garden as we've come to know it, in my view, is more of an art form that benefits bees, butterflies, birds, and so on enormously, and evokes many positive emotions in us.
You can imagine, when I first visited our future 15,000 m² plot, I immediately knew what I could create here. My own piece of untamed nature, like abroad, combined with a wonderful, large, natural garden... This would be a place where two types of nature would come together.
In this blog post, I'll take you through the story behind the design. The place where all design choices are 100% in line with my heart. The place where uncontrolled nature flourishes alongside controlled nature, the place where nature sets the rules on one side, and I on the other. The place that will teach me everything and inspire me. The place we share with all that lives outdoors, but also with friends, family, and with you...
